Koh Yao Yai in Phang-nga province is situated in the Andaman sea that is abundant with nature and is a major tourist destination from visitors worldwide. However, the quality of living for local people on the island is still in need of support, especially in the educational aspect.
Baan Klong Bon is located at Moo 4, Tambon Kao Yao Yai, Kao Yao Disctrict, Phang-nga and is one of the schools that lack of facilities. The school has been opened since 1976 for over 43 years. Today the school building is deteriorated and its limited space is not enough to accommodate the number of students. The Build Foundation is concerned and would like to offer an opportunity for teachers and students by constructing a new building for the students in the island to have sufficient space to study.
The school building is a two-storey building with a total of 770 square-meter area, consisted of 4 classrooms, one teacher room, a library, a toilet as well as space for art creation which is the specific skill that the school continuous support its students, resulting in receiving various national art awards. It is equipped with educational media, sports gears and Solar Cell as its energy source. This year, over 100 volunteers from the Build Foundation from Thailand and overseas have joined forces to fulfill the dream of the children at Baan Klong Bon by painting the building and draw pictures on the wall along with assembling book shelf and laying cement floor.
